The collab of the season just got a visual to match the hype. Lady Gaga and Doechii released the official music video for “Runway” today, and director Parris Goebel delivered exactly what the title promises: looks, attitude, and an all-out fashion spectacle.
The clip ties directly into the upcoming film “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” opening behind the scenes of Milan Fashion Week as models prep for the catwalk. From there, it’s an explosion of outfit changes and backup dancers before Gaga and Doechii close it out doing what the song demands: strutting straight down the runway.
“Runway” is a house and hip-hop banger with ballroom DNA, built around themes of confidence, self-expression, and the idea that the whole world is your runway if you carry yourself right. The song kicks off with a spoken word moment pulled from “The Nutty Professor”: “No matter what… you’ve got to strut.” The two artists trade verses throughout, with Gaga delivering the euphoric chorus and Doechii bringing the edge, before they close things out together declaring, “You were born for the runway.”
The track was co-written by Gaga and Doechii alongside Bruno Mars, Andrew Watt, Cirkut, D’Mile, and Jayda Love, with all four producers lending their hands to the final sound. It’s already charting in over a dozen countries, entering the Billboard Hot 100 at number 50 in its debut week.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2,” which features a cameo from Gaga herself, hits theaters May 1.
