Dolly Parton has canceled her long-awaited Las Vegas residency, citing ongoing health challenges that are keeping her off the stage for now. The 80-year-old country legend delivered the news in a characteristically warm Instagram video, assuring fans she is responding well to treatment but needs more time to recover before she can perform.
“The good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments and I’m improving every day,” Parton said. “Now the bad news is, it’s going to take me a little while before I’m up to stage-performance level, because some of the meds and treatments make me a little swimmy-headed, as my grandma used to say.”
Her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, originally scheduled for December 2025, had already been postponed once before being canceled entirely. Parton, who lost her husband Carl Dean in March 2025 after 58 years of marriage, also addressed the difficult year she has had, thanking fans for their support.
“I’ve still got some healing to do, but I am on my way,” she said. Parton noted she is continuing to work on recordings, preparing for the opening of a new Nashville museum and hotel, and reworking her Broadway musical “Dolly: A True Original,” which is targeting a fall or early winter opening.
