Clarkson Confirmed as Voice Coach for Season 30

Kelly Clarkson is returning to the red chair. NBC officially confirmed on May 7 that the Grammy-winning singer will be back as a coach for Season 30 of The Voice, marking her 11th time on the panel. She rejoins fellow coach Adam Levine, who is also confirmed for the milestone season.

The announcement came via the show’s official Instagram, with the caption reading, “Team Kelly has RE-entered the chat. Kelly Clarkson returns as a Coach this fall on The Voice!” Fans flooded the comments immediately, and the reaction was overwhelmingly celebratory.

Clarkson’s return follows a strong showing in Season 29, the special “Battle of Champions” edition alongside Levine and John Legend. Though she didn’t take the win (Levine’s artist Alexia Jayy was crowned), Clarkson dominated key competitive moments throughout the season. She has previously coached four Voice winners across Seasons 14, 15, 17 and 21, making her the winningest female coach in the show’s history.

The comeback also comes as Clarkson prepares to step away from her daytime talk show. The Kelly Clarkson Show is ending after its current seventh season, with the host citing a desire to prioritize her kids. Two additional Season 30 coaches have yet to be announced. Season 30 premieres on NBC this fall.
