Drake is back, and he made sure nobody missed it.
On May 15, the Toronto rapper surprised the world by dropping not one but three albums simultaneously at midnight: Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti, totaling 43 tracks across his ninth, tenth, and eleventh studio albums. It marks his first solo project since For All the Dogs in 2023, and his most ambitious release in years.
The move immediately broke records on Spotify. By the end of the day, Drake had become the most-streamed artist in a single day on the platform in 2026, while Iceman claimed the title of most-streamed album in a single day this year. On Amazon Music, the trio of projects collectively delivered the biggest first 24-hour streaming debut globally for any artist in 2026.
The releases carry significant cultural weight. Iceman had been teased for roughly two years, with Drake building anticipation through a series of livestream episodes. The night of the drop, he held a fourth installment of the livestream before revealing the surprise triple release at midnight. On the project, Drake takes aim at Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, and Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge, making clear that his post-feud era comes with receipts.
In a notable aside, Drake name-drops BTS on the Iceman track “Make Them Cry.” BTS member V responded in real time, posting an Instagram Stories clip of him and J-Hope dancing to the song.
