Dove Cameron Returns With Cinematic New Single “When in Rome”

Dove Cameron is back, and she brought Italy with her. The multi-platinum singer and actress released “When in Rome” via Columbia Records, her first new music of 2026 and the lead single from her long-awaited debut full-length album. The track pairs Cameron’s unmistakable vocals with sleek, left-of-center pop production courtesy of CJ Baran, the producer behind hits for MARINA and Carly Rae Jepsen, while a companion music video finds her wandering the sunbaked streets of Capena, just outside Rome, under the direction of Hannah Devries. The song draws from Cameron’s own time in Italy alongside fiancé and Måneskin frontman Damiano David, and she’s described the result simply as “a love song for you.” It’s a softer, more surreal turn than the noir-pop edge of “Romeo” or “Too Much,” leaning instead into the dreamy wander of “Whatever You Like.”

Off the back of a stadium run opening for Dua Lipa and a starring role in Prime Video’s chart-topping 56 Days, Cameron now heads into fall with a November run supporting Sombr, including two nights at Madison Square Garden.
