Sasha Keable knows exactly what she wants, even when it’s complicated. The British-Colombian singer returned October 1 with “options,” a sleek R&B cut about the messy pull of an ex after the relationship is over.
The song’s blunt premise came together in seconds. Keable says she walked into a session where co-writer Eddie Lopes already had a melody going, and she sang back the first thing that popped into her head: breakup sex. “I was like, right, that’s what we’re talking about,” she said.
Produced by Charlie Pitts, Lopes and Kuya Kent, the track arrives with a lush video directed by Josefina Santos and shot in Colombia, a nod to Keable’s heritage.
“options” follows ACT II, the 12-track expansion of her act right EP released in February. It caps a breakout year that includes two MOBO nominations, her first BRIT Awards nod, an NPR Tiny Desk set and more than 200 million streams. Next up is a performance on SNL UK on October 10.
