Chance spends the song declaring exactly who he is, unbothered by who’s watching, and insisting he’s landed in a place where he genuinely likes the person he’s become.
What makes “Sugar Rush” click is the contrast. Chance’s vocals stay smooth and almost delicate even as the writing gets blunt and defiant, giving the whole thing a push-pull energy that keeps it interesting from the first verse to the final hook.
