Max McNown Redefines Fame On “Famous To You”

Max McNown isn’t chasing chart positions, he’s chasing the people who matter most. The rising singer-songwriter released “Famous to You,” the latest preview of his third studio album, Leave on a Light, due September 25 via Fugitive Recordings.

The soaring, anthemic track flips the idea of stardom on its head, with McNown declaring his real ambition in the chorus: “Someday I wanna be a household name, as long as it’s the one you take.” It’s a fitting centerpiece for an album McNown describes as deeply personal. “In a way, most of the songs on this album are love songs,” he said. “They’re a tribute to my wife and my family, the people who care about who I am outside of music.”

The single follows his recent collaboration with Kygo, “Take Me Back,” and caps off a whirlwind stretch that included a sold-out, continent-spanning headline tour. With Leave on a Light, McNown is proving that staying grounded can be just as compelling as chasing the spotlight.
