Summer Walker’s long-awaited third album, Finally Over It, has opened with a bang — debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 this week. Industry trackers say the 18-track set earned about 77,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, powered by roughly 92 million on-demand streams. It’s the largest debut by a female R&B artist in 2025, cementing Walker’s status as one of the genre’s reigning stars.
The record caps Walker’s acclaimed “Over It” trilogy (following 2019’s Over It and 2021’s Still Over It) and was released in multiple editions, including deluxe versions with bonus songs and special vinyl pressings. Fans have clearly embraced the new music. Walker herself told The Jennifer Hudson Show around the album’s release, “Despite it sounding like I’m finally over it… it’s more so a different era, putting down the baggage, putting down any stress and just moving towards a better life.” That candid tone – paired with her soulful vocals – has clearly struck a chord.
Walker has kept up the momentum after release. A week later she dropped two deluxe “mini-albums” (Cocktail Hour and The Afterparty) with extra tracks, giving fans even more to stream. With its multiple editions and Walker’s signature emotive style, Finally Over It is proving that the singer’s raw, cathartic R&B still resonates. The album’s success shows Summer isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
