Victoria Monét is entering a new era, and she’s bringing the sultry energy with her. The three-time Grammy winner dropped “Reach Out,” the second single from her upcoming sophomore album, Frequency of Love, out October 2 via Lovett Music/RCA Records.
Produced by longtime collaborators Kaytranada and D’Mile, the track pairs old-school R&B warmth with an unmistakably confident message aimed at a love interest who’s taking too long to make a move. “You live your life, and I am living mine, but I know we fantasize how it would feel if our worlds collide tonight,” she sings.
The single arrives with a performance-driven video directed by Dave Meyers, featuring choreography from frequent collaborator Sean Bankhead that puts Monét’s dual mastery of vocals and movement on full display. It follows “Let Me,” which topped Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart in June. Frequency of Love will be Monét’s first full-length album since her Grammy-winning Jaguar II, and based on this preview, her follow-up era is shaping up to be just as commanding.
