Billie Eilish‘s acclaimed concert film is heading to streaming. “Billie Eilish, Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live)” premieres August 6 on Paramount+, arriving roughly three months after its theatrical run began. The film opened in cinemas on May 8 and has pulled in $10 million domestically, with $27 million worldwide to date.
Co-directed by Eilish and James Cameron, the concert experience was filmed during her sold out shows across two arenas, in Manchester and Phoenix, and leans on 3D and virtual reality technology developed in partnership with Meta and Cameron’s Lightstorm Vision. The result is designed to feel less like watching a concert and more like standing inside one. Setlist highlights include “bad guy,” “Happier Than Ever,” “Birds of a Feather,” “when the party’s over,” and the Oscar winning “What Was I Made For?” from the “Barbie” soundtrack.
This marks Eilish’s third concert film overall, following 2021’s “Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles” and 2023’s “Billie Eilish: Live at the O2.” Cameron previously spoke about the creative give and take behind the project, noting the pair worked to balance his instinct for close, immersive camera work with Eilish’s desire to protect the raw feel of the live show.
