Morrissey‘s Las Vegas residency is officially off. The former Smiths frontman was set to play four nights at Wynn Las Vegas’ Encore Theater starting August 14, but ticket holders received word Friday that the entire run had been scrapped.
“Hello, we regret to inform you that Morrissey, Live in Concert, scheduled for August 14, 15, 18, and 19 at Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas, has been canceled,” the email to fans read. “Due to unforeseen logistical issues, the scheduled Las Vegas residency cannot take place.”
The shows have since been scrubbed from the Wynn’s entertainment page, and Ticketmaster listings now read, “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.” No further explanation has been given for what exactly went wrong.
In a follow up statement written in the third person, Morrissey pushed back on any suggestion the cancellation was his call, declaring that “Morrissey doesn’t cancel Vegas” and that the shows “cannot happen for logistical reasons outside of Morrissey’s control.”
This is far from the singer’s first canceled show. He axed 22 performances in 2025 alone, citing everything from illness to an adverse reaction to prescription medication. Back in March, he pulled a Valencia, Spain date after saying nearby festival noise left him in a “catatonic state” with no sleep.
As of now, the rest of Morrissey’s late summer and fall U.S. tour remains on the books, including a planned appearance at Chicago’s Riot Fest opening for Tool. Whether those dates hold is anyone’s guess.
