Organizers dropped a teaser video across social media on Friday, catching festivalgoers mid answer as they named their favorite Aussie music festivals, before cutting to sweeping shots of a packed crowd and a massive stage setup. No dates, no venues, no lineup yet, but the message was clear. Spilt Milk isn’t going anywhere.
The announcement caps off a huge comeback year for the festival, which sold out across all four of its host cities in 2025: Ballarat, Perth, Canberra and the Gold Coast. That lineup leaned hard into star power, with Kendrick Lamar headlining alongside Doechii, Dominic Fike, ScHoolboy Q, sombr and Nessa Barrett, proving there was still a massive appetite for the touring festival after a rocky stretch for Australia’s live music scene.
Since launching in Canberra back in 2016, Spilt Milk has grown into one of the country’s biggest touring festivals, adding Ballarat and the Gold Coast in 2019 and Perth in 2023. It’s also carried some weighty musical history, including hosting Juice WRLD’s final live performance in 2019, just a week before his passing. The festival paused through COVID, came back in 2022, then sat out 2024 entirely as several major Australian events buckled under financial pressure.
With 2026 now locked in, all eyes turn to what the lineup and dates will look like when organizers are ready to share more.
