Justin Bieber has pulled off another surprise release — dropping a brand-new album called SWAG II, just two months after his last record. The pop star announced on Sept. 4, 2025 that he’d be unveiling the follow-up to July’s SWAG at midnight, and despite a brief delay past the stroke of twelve, Bieber made good on his promise. By the early hours of Sept. 5, SWAG II was live on streaming platforms, much to the delight of fans who scarcely expected another full album so soon.
The new release is packed with 23 songs and features some high-profile collaborations, including Afrobeats star Tems and rapper Lil B. Bieber, 31, took to Instagram as the drop approached, apologizing to eager listeners — “I’m sorry for the wait… they’re telling me any second,” he wrote in one post — and assuring them he was “waiting with u” during the hold-up. Once SWAG II finally arrived, the singer celebrated online, exclaiming “OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG WE LIVEEEEEEEEEE” in excitement.
SWAG II serves as a sequel to July’s 21-track SWAG album (which had been Bieber’s first LP since 2021). This time around, the music is rumored to lean even more into pop influences. Bieber also incorporated personal touches — the album’s promotion included billboards featuring a family photo of Justin, his wife Hailey, and their infant son, and tracks like “Mother in You” and “Don’t Wanna” hint at reflections on his marriage and new fatherhood. With SWAG II, Bieber once again shows he’s not afraid to do things on his own terms, keeping fans guessing and satisfied in equal measure.
