Soul and R&B maestro Raphael Saadiq is going solo – literally – on the road this fall. After a string of intimate, sold-out performances earlier this summer, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has announced he’s taking his acclaimed one-man show, No Bandwidth: One Man, One Night, Three Decades of Hits, on a full North American tour. The 22-city trek will launch September 7, 2025 in Sacramento, California, and wind its way across the country through October 14, wrapping up in Nashville.
“I’ve always wanted to do a one-man show. I want to challenge myself,” Saadiq said in a press statement about the unique format. “My one-person show has three acts; I will be talking about my career, bringing a couple of instruments to express myself, singing my original music as well as covers of songs I wish I had written, and more. I want it to feel magical and like a Broadway show.” In “No Bandwidth,” the veteran artist – known for his work fronting Tony! Toni! Toné! as well as solo hits and productions for artists like D’Angelo and Solange – serves as his own band, storyteller, and performer all at once.
The expanded tour itinerary reflects the overwhelming demand Saadiq saw during initial shows in New York, Los Angeles and his hometown of Oakland, which quickly sold out. Fans lucky enough to snag a ticket can expect an evening that’s part concert, part memoir. Saadiq will journey through highlights of his 30-plus year career: from Tony! Toni! Toné! classics (“Anniversary,” “Feels Good”) and solo gems (“Ask of You,” “Skyy, Can You Feel Me”), to behind-the-scenes tales of writing and producing for others. He even incorporates recent work – for instance, Saadiq’s new song “I Lied to You,” featured in a 2024 horror film soundtrack – showing that his creativity is as vital as ever.
Critics have praised the show’s stripped-down authenticity, which puts Saadiq’s silky voice, masterful bass/guitar playing, and charm at center stage. The artist himself describes it as an intimate “living room” experience he’s sharing with audiences. The tour’s venues range from historic theaters to symphony halls, providing an appropriately elegant backdrop. With three acts to fill each night, Saadiq isn’t holding back: fans might hear him cover the songs that inspired him (he’s hinted at Marvin Gaye and Al Green favorites), riff on stories from his coming-of-age in Oakland, and of course, perform the slow jams and grooves that made him an R&B icon. As the tour kicks off in early September, Raphael Saadiq will be proving that sometimes less is more – and that one man, with a lifetime of music, truly has no bandwidth limitations when it comes to captivating an audience.
