Katseye Goes Untamed on New EP “Wild”

Katseye is entering a new era. The group released “Wild,” their third EP, through HYBE x Geffen Records, marking a shift from the “Beautiful Chaos” of their last project into something the group calls more euphoric and untamed.

The standard edition holds five tracks: “Pinky Up,” “Animal,” “Hootie Frutti,” “Bel Air” and “That Way,” with “Pinky Up,” “Animal” and “Hootie Frutti” serving as triple title tracks. The songwriting credits read like a pop dream team, with Ed Sheeran penning “Animal” and Charli xcx behind breakup track “Bel Air.”

The EP dropped alongside “Katseye: Wild Hearts,” a theatrical documentary offering fans an intimate look at the group’s journey since forming through a reality competition just over two years ago. Hours before release, Katseye also broke Spotify’s record for most pre-saves ever for a girl group project.

The group celebrated release day with a performance at NBC’s “TODAY” Citi Concert Series in New York, drawing one of the largest crowds in the series’ history while debuting new songs alongside fan favorite “Gabriela.”

Member Sophia summed up the group’s mission in an interview earlier this year. “We always want to make an impact and leave an impression anywhere we go,” she said, “and I think the biggest way we can do that is always through our music.”
