John Mayer is heading back to Las Vegas, and this time the marquee carries only his name. The seven-time Grammy winner has announced “John Mayer Live at Sphere,” a six-night run in April 2027 that splits every show into three distinct experiences: solo, full band and the John Mayer Trio.
“Meet me where the light is,” Mayer told fans in his announcement, a nod to his beloved 2008 live album and concert film.
The solo portion puts Mayer alone onstage, leaning heavily on acoustic guitar with moments on piano and electric. The full band segment opens the arrangements up, while the Trio set reunites him with drummer Steve Jordan and bassist Pino Palladino for their first live shows together in years. That rhythm section brings serious credentials, with Jordan now anchoring the Rolling Stones and Palladino a longtime bassist for The Who.
Mayer already knows the room. Dead & Company played 48 shows at the Sphere across 2024 and 2025, with Mayer serving as creative director behind the residency’s visuals. The production earned Pollstar’s Residency of the Year honor in 2025.
Dates are set for April 8, 10, 11, 15, 17 and 18. Limited VIP packages go on sale September 30 at 10 a.m. PT, followed by an artist presale on October 7, a SiriusXM presale on October 8 and the general on-sale October 9 through Ticketmaster. Tickets for each show will also be auctioned, with all proceeds benefiting Mayer’s Heart and Armor Foundation for veterans’ health.
