Charli xcx has never been one to do anything quietly, and her seventh studio album announcement is no exception. On June 1, the Brat superstar revealed that her next record is called Music, Fashion, Film, and it arrives July 24 via Atlantic Records.
The cover art alone tells you everything you need to know about where Charli’s head is at right now. Shot by director Aidan Zamiri, the black-and-white photo features three undisputed icons, one for each pillar of the title: Velvet Underground’s John Cale representing music, designer Marc Jacobs for fashion, and cinematic legend Martin Scorsese for film.
The album clocks in at a tight 11 songs and exactly 30 minutes and 5 seconds. Previously released singles “Rock Music” and “SS26” are both included, with “SS26” now revealed to have been hiding the album’s title in plain sight all along with the lyric, “Nothing’s gonna save us, not music, fashion or film.”
Charli has been on a creative tear in 2026, already releasing the Wuthering Heights soundtrack for Emerald Fennell’s buzzy film and starring in A24’s mockumentary The Moment. At the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, she made clear that her crossover ambitions are far from a phase.
In a TikTok teasing the new record, she kept it very on-brand: “I made an album and it’s really different from the last one. And I love it. And… you might not. And that’s cool.”
Music, Fashion, Film is available to pre-order now.
