Alan Jackson‘s final bow is headed to primetime. NBC will air “Alan Jackson: The Last Show” on Dec. 8, with the special streaming the next day on Peacock.
The special was filmed at Nissan Stadium in Nashville and captures what Jackson has billed as his last concert. It spotlights a catalog of hits that spans more than three decades, including “Remember When,” “Gone Country” and “Livin’ on Love.” Eric Church, Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood are among the guests, with more to be revealed.
Sam Wrench, the director behind some of the biggest concert films of recent years, is at the helm. Joan of Arc StudioWorks and EverWonder Studios are producing.
The farewell caps a career that made Jackson one of country’s most enduring traditionalists. In 2021, he revealed he has Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a neurological condition that has made it harder to perform and stand for long stretches. Stepping back from the stage gives him a chance to go out on his own terms, in front of a sold-out hometown crowd.
For fans who couldn’t be in the stadium, the broadcast offers a full look at the show: the hits, the guest turns and the farewell moment itself.
Jackson has also reflected on his early years in recent interviews, including starting out as a teenager and first putting on his signature cowboy hat around age 17.
