Prince’s ‘3121’ Gets the Deluxe Treatment

Las Vegas Concert Film and Unreleased Tracks

Prince‘s 2006 chart-topper is getting a 20th anniversary overhaul. The Prince Estate will release an expanded edition of “3121” on Dec. 11, packed with unreleased music and footage from his Las Vegas residency.

The expanded edition arrives digitally and as 3-LP/Blu-ray and 2-CD/Blu-ray sets. The digital version pairs the original 12 tracks with 10 raw recordings. The second CD holds 10 bonus tracks, and the Blu-ray features 21. Among the extras is “Time of Ur Life,” a previously unreleased song that arrived with a live “Black Sweat” video on YouTube. Other bonus material includes “The Streets of Panama,” “Another Girl,” “Glass Cutter” and acoustic takes of “The Word,” “Love” and “Te Amo Corazón.”

Fans will also get the big screen. Prince: 3121 Las Vegas Concert, a 154-minute film in 4K and Dolby Atmos, plays in U.S. and Canadian theaters starting Dec. 3 for a limited run. Tickets go on sale Nov. 11.

For collectors, “3121 Las Vegas Live” arrives for Record Store Day Black Friday on Nov. 27 on crystal blue 3-LP vinyl and 2-CD. It captures a Jan. 20, 2007 show in Las Vegas.

“3121” was released March 21, 2006, and became Prince’s first album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Longtime attorney and manager L. Londell McMillan called it a classic that marks an extraordinary period in the artist’s career. Vocalist Támar Davis, who worked on the project, described the collaboration as an honor.

Preorders and presaves are live now.
