Stella Lefty‘s breakout year just got its capstone. The 24-year-old singer-songwriter released her debut album, Long Way Home, on August 21 via Atlantic Outpost, a 14-track project stitching together seven new songs with the breakout singles that made her a star, including “Boston” and “Thinking ’bout You.” The album expands on her May EP, Is This Heaven?, tracing the heady, uncertain early days of falling in love.
Lefty first revealed the album during her Lollapalooza debut in front of more than 12,000 fans in her hometown of Chicago, a moment she called deeply personal. “I feel like it just makes so much sense to tell you, guys, something that I haven’t told anybody else,” she told the crowd, “because I feel at home here and at home with you guys.” She added that the record “is about the journey of coming back here.”
The rollout continues with a Grand Ole Opry debut on September 2, followed by a fall tour stretching from Melbourne to Nashville. “Boston” recently earned Lefty an MTV VMA nomination for Best Country, alongside a Best New Artist nod.
