A$AP Rocky Set to Receive Inaugural Tribeca X Award

A$AP Rocky is being recognized for something bigger than bars. Tribeca X has announced that the Harlem creative will receive the inaugural Tribeca X Filmmaker of the Year Award, a brand-new honor created to celebrate visionary artists pushing the boundaries of brand-supported storytelling. The award will be presented at Tribeca X, part of the 25th annual Tribeca Festival, taking place June 8 and 9 at Spring Studios in New York City.

The honor acknowledges Rocky’s expansive body of work across music, fashion, film, design, and brand collaboration. As founder of the multidisciplinary creative agency AWGE, he has shaped campaigns and visual projects for Puma, Mercedes-Benz, Gucci, Dior, and Ray-Ban, among others, building a creative portfolio that operates well beyond the traditional boundaries of a music career.

“Tribeca X was built to celebrate the creators reshaping modern storytelling,” said Tribeca Enterprises CEO Rebecca Glashow.

The 2026 Tribeca X lineup is stacked, with previously announced speakers including Cedric the Entertainer, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, Michelle Khare, Taylor Rooks, and Aurora James. Additional names on the roster include David and Finn Droga, Judith Light, and Paige DeSorbo, alongside executives from McDonald’s, Amazon, Microsoft, and more.

The Tribeca X Awards jury this year is led by Daniel Cherry III, Juliana Cobb, and Emmy-winning writer and producer Lena Waithe.
