Olivia Rodrigo is officially in her next era, and if the title is any indication, it’s going to be a gut-wrenching one.
The three-time Grammy winner announced her third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, set for release on June 12, 2026, via Geffen Records. The title itself is practically a whole storyline.
Rodrigo shared the album’s cover art showing her in a pink outfit, swinging carefree, but don’t let the visuals fool you. She told British Vogue the album is a collection of “sad love songs,” explaining that her favorite romantic tracks are beautiful because they carry a tinge of fear or yearning.
The Cure’s Robert Smith has reportedly been in the studio with her, which says everything about the sonic direction we can expect. The album is described as her most experimental yet, taking inspiration from her time in London and marking a clear stylistic departure from the pop-rock sound of Sour and Guts.
Longtime collaborator and producer Dan Nigro is back on the project, confirming the news on Instagram with a simple, “Olivia and I made an album. I’m pretty excited about it!”
The album clocks in at 13 tracks, and pre-orders are live now in everything from hot pink vinyl to signed CDs. Rodrigo said it herself: “I am so proud of this record and I can’t wait for you to hear it.” June 12 cannot come fast enough.
