For its milestone 10th anniversary, the Love Rocks NYC benefit concert has unveiled an all-star lineup topped by Mary J. Blige, Paul Simon, Hozier, Jon Batiste and Elvis Costello. The charity show is set for March 5 at New York’s Beacon Theatre, promising a night of legendary performances for a great cause.
Presented by Bloomberg Philanthropies, Love Rocks NYC raises funds for God’s Love We Deliver, a New York nonprofit that provides free meals to people living with severe illnesses. Since its inception, the annual concert series has funded over 6.5 million meals for New Yorkers in need.
Along with the marquee headliners, this year’s bill spans genres and generations. Nile Rodgers & CHIC, the Goo Goo Dolls, ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons, songwriter Linda Perry, Bangles singer Susanna Hoffs, Trombone Shorty, Warren Haynes and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band are also set to perform. And the star power isn’t only on stage – comedian JB Smoove, Oscar winner Julianne Moore, Paul Shaffer, Whoopi Goldberg and more will make special appearances throughout the night.
“As a native New Yorker, it has been a privilege to create such a meaningful platform to raise both funds and awareness for an essential organization that supports our fellow New Yorkers,” says Love Rocks NYC co-executive producer Greg Williamson. Terrence Meck, president and CEO of God’s Love We Deliver, adds that organizers are “thrilled to celebrate the milestone 10th anniversary of Love Rocks NYC, which continues to harness the power of music to support our vital mission.”
Tickets for the concert go on sale Feb. 13 via Ticketmaster, with pre-sale options beginning Feb. 11.
