Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Man’s Best Friend’ Fetches a No. 1

LP Debuts with Record-Breaking Streams

Sabrina Carpenter is sitting at the top of the charts once again. The pop singer’s new album Man’s Best Friend has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking her second career chart-topper after 2024’s Short n’ Sweet. Carpenter’s latest bowed with a blockbuster 366,000 equivalent album units earned in its first week – the biggest opening of 2025 for any female artist, and the third-largest overall this year. That impressive sum includes a career-best 224,000 in pure album sales, fueled by eager fans snapping up multiple physical editions, as well as a massive streaming haul.

In fact, Man’s Best Friend racked up over 184 million on-demand streams during its release week. It even broke Spotify’s record for the most single-day streams for an album by a female artist, with 64.4 million streams on its first day alone. Carpenter reacted to the news on social media, writing in an Instagram Story, This blows my mind… Can’t thank you enough for listening.” It’s a triumphant moment for the rising pop superstar.

The album’s early success also comes with historic context: Man’s Best Friend is the first album by a woman to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in five months, ending a drought since Ariana Grande’s spring release. And her dominance extends beyond the albums chart. Man’s Best Friend’s lead single “Manchild” has already conquered the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Sabrina’s second No. 1 hit (after 2024’s “Please Please Please”) and another smash on pop radio. With these achievements, Sabrina Carpenter has firmly cemented her status among pop’s elite – and she’s got the stats to back it up.
