Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, and Riley Green will bring major star power to this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards. After three years in Texas, the ACM Awards are returning to Las Vegas on May 17, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The Academy announced today that the trio of country hitmakers are the first performers confirmed for the 61st annual show.
Wilson – the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year – is set to deliver the world-premiere live performance of her new single “Can’t Sit Still,” giving fans their first taste of the song on the big stage. Four-time ACM Award winner Riley Green will perform his latest hit, “Change My Mind,” fresh off winning three ACM trophies last year. Cody Johnson, who took home Song of the Year at last year’s ACMs for “Dirt Cheap,” will also perform, though his set list hasn’t been revealed yet.
Organizers promise “unprecedented performances, exclusive collaborations, and unexpected moments” throughout the night as country’s biggest stars celebrate the genre’s icons and rising talent. The ACM Awards will stream globally on Amazon’s Prime Video (as well as Twitch and the Amazon Music app), marking a return to an all-digital broadcast for the show. More performers – and a host – will be announced in the coming weeks, but with Wilson, Green and Johnson already on board, country music’s party of the year is off to a strong start.
