Britney Spears Strikes Landmark Deal

Sells Music Catalog to Primary Wave

Britney Spears has sold the rights to her entire music catalog to independent publisher Primary Wave, marking a blockbuster move by the pop superstar. The sale – reportedly finalized in late December – is being described by insiders as a “landmark deal” potentially in the range of $200 million.

Entertainment outlet TMZ first broke the story, citing legal documents that show Spears signed the agreement on Dec. 30. Variety confirmed the deal as well, noting that along with her songs, an unclear number of other rights were part of the package. Primary Wave, known for handling legendary catalogs from the likes of Whitney Houston and Prince, has not publicly commented. Spears herself hasn’t addressed the sale yet, but TMZ’s sources say she’s “happy with the sale and has been celebrating by spending time with her kids.”

For Spears, 44, the move represents a major financial windfall and another career milestone. The Grammy winner’s nearly three-decade catalog spans generation-defining hits like “…Baby One More Time,” “Toxic” and “Gimme More.” She now joins a growing list of megastars – including Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Justin Bieber – who have recently cashed in on their music rights.

Notably, the Primary Wave deal comes just four years after Spears was freed from a 13-year conservatorship that controlled her personal and financial decisions. With that chapter behind her, the singer is clearly taking charge of her business affairs – and reaping the rewards of her iconic pop legacy.
