Daniel Seavey plans to carve out his own future with new music

Music artists rarely go solo after enjoying a successful career with a band. Yet, American singer Daniel Seavey is defying the norm by releasing a solo album following his stint with boy band Why Not We. Last December, Seavey released his debut single, “Can We Pretend Were Good,” a emotional track that highlights his vocal range and musicality. The song was released under his name, marking the first time he went solo after collaborating with his bandmates for several years.

Daniel Seavey’s music journey started in 2015 when he auditioned for the 14th season of “American Idol.”Although he didn’t win, in 2016, Daniel co-founded Why Don’t We, embarking on an incredible six-year journey marked by over 4 billion global career streams, two RIAA Platinum-certified singles, five RIAA Gold-certified singles, two Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart, and spellbinding sold-out tours, gracing legendary venues such as Radio City Music Hall. However, in December 2020 after a legal battle with the managers of the band, Seavey announced that he was releasing his first solo single, signaling a new chapter in his music career.

In a recent post on Instagram the singer addressed his latest EP and struggles of the last few months saying, “Because I believe and have always believed that my gifts are powerful enough to surpass any dark grip this world tries to put on me, that my gifts are protected by God and no one can get in the way…..because I am free and will never be stopped again.” His EP titled, Dancing In The Dark fits the emotional journey that we all hope leads to the healing he deserves. We are ready to get to know Daniel.
