Slayyyter is hitting pause. The pop star announced on Instagram on October 23 that she is canceling the remaining dates of her UK and European tour after being diagnosed with laryngitis and vocal cord tears.
Doctors ordered medication and full vocal rest for at least two weeks. In her message to fans, she said she was heartbroken and was canceling to avoid permanent damage to her voice, adding that she was devastated not to deliver the shows they had planned for. The cancellations cover the rest of the run, including stops in Berlin, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and London.
The tour, in support of her album Wor$t Girl in America from March, had recently passed through Paris, Amsterdam and Cologne before the diagnosis forced the break. Full refunds are available at the point of sale.
There is a silver lining. Slayyyter and her team are reportedly looking at rescheduling the shows for next year, though no new dates are confirmed, and she said she hopes to have news to share very soon to make it up to fans.
The fallout reached the road crew too. Opening act Kalika said she and her team were left stranded in Europe with their gear on the tour bus after learning of the news from Slayyyter’s Instagram Story, but she wished the headliner a quick recovery, writing that her health comes first.
