Snoh Aalegra is back, and she’s going deep. The Iranian Swedish-born singer, songwriter and producer has released “Karma,” her first new music since 2023 and the start of a new creative chapter.
Produced by Josh Grant and co-written with Joel Compass, the track is a lush slice of alt-R&B with jazzy neo-soul touches. It echoes the dreamy mood of her Grammy-nominated Temporary Highs in the Violet Skies and 2019’s Ugh, those feels again.
At its heart, the song is about a muse she connected with over several years, a bond that never fully came together. Aalegra believes past lives played a part. In a teaser video, she revealed that a karmic healer told her the two had shared 16 lives together, and that an old betrayal ended things in this one. “We were never strangers,” she said.
Aalegra teased the release with a pair of moody videos on social media before the full song arrived. “Karma” is out now via Feels Run Free.
