Sir Paul McCartney is swapping stadiums for a small Hollywood stage. The former Beatle has announced a pair of very intimate concerts at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre later this month – marking his first live performances since wrapping his arena-sized “Got Back” tour late last year. The two-night stand is set for March 27 and 28 at the 1,200-capacity venue, a far cry from the massive crowds McCartney played to in 2025. Fans can expect an up-close encounter with the legend in a venue barely larger than a club, an exceedingly rare opportunity in McCartney’s modern touring era.
News of the Fonda shows dropped with little warning, sending Los Angeles fans into a frenzy. Tickets are sure to be hot commodities given the setting (the Fonda is a historic 1920s theater known for its cozy atmosphere and great acoustics). McCartney’s team billed the gigs as a special treat after the huge success of his recent tour. The 81-year-old icon spent much of last year playing sold-out arenas and stadiums worldwide; his final tour stop in November even featured a surprise on-stage reunion with Ringo Starr. Since then, McCartney has stayed off the road – until now.
It’s unclear if the Fonda dates are one-off events or hint at more to come. Either way, attendees can likely count on a career-spanning set of Beatles classics, Wings deep cuts, and solo hits, delivered in an exceptionally personal setting. McCartney has occasionally popped up for surprise club shows in the past, and each time he’s seemed to relish the chance to connect with audiences face-to-face. This return to a smaller stage should be no different: an intimate rock ‘n’ roll night with pop royalty.
