When We Were Young Festival Takes 2026 Hiatus, Plans 2027 Return

Fans of emo and pop-punk got bittersweet news this week: Las Vegas’s When We Were Young festival will take 2026 off. Organizers announced on social media that after “an unforgettable run in Las Vegas, we’ve decided to take 2026 off to give this festival the care it deserves.” The statement continued, “Thank you for showing up with your whole hearts every year… This isn’t goodbye—it’s just a pause,” and confirmed the fifth edition will return in October 2027.

The huge one-day fest – which last fall featured headliners like Weezer, Blink-182 and Panic! at the Disco (playing A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out in full) – has become a favorite for emo revival fans. Organizers emphasized the hiatus is temporary and promise to come back bigger next year. “When We Were Young was always about community,” their message said. For now, fans can rest assured: this pause just means the party will pick back up in 2027.
