Country breakout Megan Moroney is trading heartbreak for pure bliss on her latest release. The singer-songwriter has unveiled “Cloud 9,” a breezy, lovestruck anthem that also serves as the title track of her upcoming third album. Known for her candid heartbreak ballads, Moroney flips the script here – “Cloud 9” finds her floating through everyday annoyances with a smile, thanks to the glow of new love. She even teased on social media that this song is “for the lover girls,” marking a rosy turn toward romance.
The full Cloud 9 album is due out February 20 and will feature 15 tracks (including duets with Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves). Moroney says these new songs reflect her most confident self yet. “Similar to the first two albums, it’s all honest, personal experiences, but written by the strongest, most confident version of myself I’ve ever been,” she shared, adding that Cloud 9 “is a state of mind” and her “best chapter yet.”
