Ari Lennox has released her soulful third studio album, Vacancy, via Interscope Records. It’s Lennox’s first full-length project since 2022’s age/sex/location, and the Grammy-nominated singer uses the album to bare her soul. She wrapped up recording Vacancy last summer with executive producer Elite, crafting a warm, cohesive R&B sound that blends old-school grooves with modern flair. Across the album’s 15 tracks, Lennox pours her heart into tales of heartbreak, healing, and self-discovery, channeling the “void” that inspired its title into richly emotional songs.
Vacancy also reunites Lennox with legendary producers Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox – the hitmaking duo behind her 2021 platinum single “Pressure.” They co-produced the sultry title track “Vacancy” and the airy mid-tempo “Under the Moon,” adding a touch of classic finesse to her contemporary style. From flirtatious jams like “Soft Girl Era” to vulnerable ballads such as “Twin Flame,” Vacancy holds nothing back. “This album holds so many pieces of my heart,” Lennox shared with fans on release day, thanking them for “loving this music as much as I do.” The personal touch in these songs has clearly resonated, as fans are already praising the album’s honesty and soul.
