Suki Waterhouse Steps Into Her Light With “Back In Love”

Suki Waterhouse is entering a new era, and she’s leading with everything she’s got. The British singer-songwriter dropped “Back In Love” on March 27, marking her first release through Island Records and the opening statement of her forthcoming third album, the follow-up to 2024’s acclaimed Memoir of a Sparklemuffin.

The track is bold, buoyant, and built around a roaring horn section that blends the drama of ’70s rock with the haze of ’90s psychedelia. It arrives with a vibrant music video directed by Kaz Firpo, set inside an eternal nightclub where Waterhouse commands every room she walks into.

“The phrase ‘Back in Love’ reflects many ideas,” she shared. “For me, it’s about coming back to your sense of self after having an identity shift.” Co-written with longtime collaborators Natalie Findlay and Jules Apollinaire, who also produced the track, the song is a celebration of self-reclamation. With Lollapalooza on the horizon and more music expected soon, this is just the beginning of what looks like Waterhouse’s biggest chapter yet.
