Lil Wayne isn’t done celebrating the era of Tha Carter just yet. The New Orleans rap icon has announced he’s extending his 20th Anniversary Tour for the Tha Carter album series, adding more than 25 new North American shows to keep the party going through 2026. The expanded trek – honoring two decades since Wayne dropped the first Tha Carter in 2004 – will feature some high-profile friends along for the ride. Atlanta hitmaker 2 Chainz is set to join as a special guest on the majority of the new dates, while West Coast rap veteran The Game will support on select stops.
The prolific rapper (born Dwayne Carter Jr.) launched the anniversary tour last year to fanfare and sold-out crowds, performing tracks spanning all six installments of his legendary Tha Carter album series. (He released Tha Carter VI just last year, capping the run that began with his breakout fourth studio album.) According to Wayne’s camp, the next leg of shows will follow a similar formula: a hit-packed setlist drawing from 20-plus years of mixtape fire and chart-topping anthems – think “Go DJ” to “A Milli” to recent cuts – all delivered with Tunechi’s signature energy.
Tickets for the new dates go on sale later this week, starting with a Citi cardmember presale on Wednesday, March 18, followed by general public sales on Friday. Cities and venues have yet to be fully revealed, but Wayne teased that he’ll be hitting some unexpected spots this time around. “This one’s for the diehards in places we haven’t been in a minute,” his team noted in the announcement. It sounds like Lil Wayne is determined to bring Tha Carter love to as many fans as possible – no one will have to miss out on the celebration of an era that solidified him as one of hip-hop’s greats.
