After weeks of speculation, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have confirmed they are ending their long-running relationship – but they insist their focus remains on raising their child together. The pop superstar and the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, who got engaged in 2019 and share a 4-year-old daughter, addressed reports of a split through a statement released by their representatives on July 3. “Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” the couple’s reps said, acknowledging the pair have been gradually transitioning out of their romantic partnership. The statement further noted that Perry, 38, and Bloom, 46, “will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
The announcement comes after the A-list couple had spent much of the past year apart, fueling breakup rumors. Multiple outlets reported in late June that the two had quietly called off their engagement. The pair’s last public appearance together was back in April, and Bloom notably attended a friend’s June wedding solo while Perry was on tour. (The singer also made headlines performing her ballad “I’m Still Breathing” in concert, hinting at heartbreak.) Notably, this isn’t the first time the on-off couple have hit pause: they had a brief breakup in 2017 before reconciling. Now, after roughly nine years together, Perry and Bloom are parting ways romantically but remain committed to co-parenting their daughter, Daisy Dove.
