Mariah Carey Returns with Here For It All after 7 years

Music legend Mariah Carey is making a triumphant return with Here For It All, her first full album in seven years. The 11-track LP is her 16th studio album (following 2018’s Caution) and spans upbeat pop, R&B and even gospel. The new record features an all-star lineup of guests including Anderson .Paak, the Clark Sisters, Kehlani and dancehall star Shenseea. Early singles like the reggae-tinged “Type Dangerous” and the Kehlani–Shenseea duet “Sugar Sweet” have hinted at the album’s bold new sound.

In interviews Carey has spoken excitedly about the material. She said she “really enjoyed making this album” and went with the creative flow, admitting “I didn’t know how it was going to end up — but it worked.” She also noted the album’s variety: “The vibe of the album is different. There are up-tempos, mid-tempos, and duets,” Carey explained. Fans and critics have embraced her comeback, praising her signature vocal power and positive message. With Here For It All, Mariah proves she’s far from done, even as she continues to reign as the self-proclaimed Queen of Christmas and Queen of Pop.
