Doja Cat Drops Anticipated Album Vie

Global star Doja Cat has finally released her fifth studio album, Vie, to excited fans. The 15-track project nods to ’80s and ’90s pop — and even reunites Doja with SZA, her Kiss Me More collaborator, on one of the songs. Doja Cat chose the French word vie (“life”) as the title, playing on the Roman numeral V for five and the album’s themes of love and adventure. She explained, “I feel strongly about the meaning of the word Vie, because without life there is no love and without love there is no adventure.”

The new songs mix Doja’s playful vocals with retro-inspired beats, as heard on lead single “Jealous Type.” Alongside the album drop she also premiered a sleek new video for “Gorgeous.” Doja Cat will continue the celebration on TV — co-hosting The Tonight Show and headlining Saturday Night Live — ensuring that Vie gets the spotlight it’s been anticipating.
