Global Latin superstar Karol G has officially unleashed her highly anticipated new album, Tropicoqueta, a vibrant collection that the singer calls a return to her musical roots. After the record-breaking success of Mañana Será Bonito, Karol was determined to dig deep for its follow-up. “Traveling the world with my last album, an album that gave me so much, I kept asking myself the same question: ‘What’s the next step?’” she shared on Instagram when announcing Tropicoqueta. “It wasn’t a matter of looking further, but of looking within.”
She promises that this record is a journey “back to the roots, to the songs I grew up listening to, to the sounds that made me fall in love with music.” That nostalgic, carefree approach defines Tropicoqueta’s sound and spirit. The album’s lead single, “Latina Foreva,” set the tone in May with its celebratory Latin-pop vibe, and the full tracklist delivers even more surprises. Fans are buzzing about a cameo from Mexican icon Thalía (who appears in a telenovela-inspired interlude), a duet with Karol’s partner Feid on the sultry “Verano Rosa,” and a steamy music video for “Papasito” co-starring Top Gun actor Danny Ramírez. With Tropicoqueta now out, Karol G proves that summer officially starts with her – just as she teased to her followers: “Summer starts with us… just like last year.”
