Global K-pop sensation Lisa of BLACKPINK is officially getting the documentary treatment. Sony Music Vision announced an untitled documentary film centered on the 26-year-old superstar, offering an intimate look at Lisa’s life on and offstage. Award-winning director Sue Kim has been filming Lisa over the past year, capturing pivotal moments such as Lisa’s 2025 debut solo performance at Coachella and visits to her home country of Thailand. The film promises unprecedented access to the usually private idol, focusing on her meteoric solo career and personal growth beyond the spotlight.
In a statement about the project, director Kim expressed excitement at telling Lisa’s story. “Following Lisa on this transformative and thrilling year has been a true honor and a cinematic gift,” Kim said. “There have been so many moments on her journey that I think will surprise people and give a glimpse into her world that no one’s ever seen before.” Lisa, who in the past two years founded her own company and released her first solo album, said she’s eager for fans to see the results. “This has been such an incredible year and I’m so lucky to have the opportunity to capture these special moments on film and share the experience with my fans,” the singer shared, adding that working with Kim has been “such a joy”. The documentary – produced by Lisa’s team at LLY (Lalisa’s company) alongside RCA Records – does not yet have a release date, but anticipation among BLINKs (BLACKPINK fans) is already sky-high for a closer look at the star’s life behind the scenes.
