British R&B songstress Ella Mai is back with her first album in four years – and she’s baring her heart. Released Friday via 10 Summers/Interscope, the 14-track set (executive-produced by her mentor Mustard) offers an intimate journey through love’s highs and lows. It features pre-release fan favorites “100” and “Tell Her,” plus a gospel-infused collaboration with Kirk Franklin on the uplifting “No Angels.”
Mai created much of this album while pregnant with her first child, which pushed her toward a more feel-good approach. “I didn’t want anything to stress me out,” she explained, saying she set out to make music that “feels good.” That positive mindset shines through the songs, even as Mai remains emotionally honest. She describes the finished project as a “safe space” for both herself and listeners, despite its vulnerable subject matter. With Do You Still Love Me?, Ella Mai invites fans into that space and further cements her status at the forefront of modern R&B.
