Lewis Capaldi Returns with Heartfelt “Something In The Heavens”

Lewis Capaldi is back and tugging at heartstrings with his new single, “Something In The Heavens.” After a year away from the spotlight, the Scottish singer-songwriter unveiled the emotional track – which he’s described as “the saddest song I’ve ever written” – much to the delight of fans. Co-written with brothers Connor and Riley McDonough, “Something In The Heavens” explores the pain of loss and the faint hope of reunion. Capaldi’s signature soaring vocals deliver gut-wrenching lines like, “I’ll love you ’til my last breath… you’re gone but something in the heavens tells me that we’ll be together again,” showcasing his knack for raw, relatable lyrics.

The ballad had already earned a rapturous response when Capaldi teased it live during his sold-out UK arena tour earlier this year. Now, with the official release, he’s also shared a stirring performance video filmed at Abbey Road Studios. “Something In The Heavens” marks Capaldi’s first new music since his 2023 hiatus, and it arrives as he announces a major run of outdoor shows for 2026 – signaling a triumphant return for the soulful star.
