Jill Scott Announces ‘To Whom This May Concern,’

First Album in more than 11 Years

Jill Scott is finally ending a musical hiatus and blessing fans with a new album. The neo-soul songstress announced that To Whom This May Concern — her first studio LP in more than a decade — will arrive on Feb. 13, 2026. Scott shared the news directly on Instagram, writing, “Finally, my new album entitled TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN drops Feb. 13th!!!! … Thank you for your patience and your listening ears.” The heartfelt post, brimming with excitement and gratitude, sparked an outpouring of love from fans and fellow artists alike.

The upcoming album will be Scott’s first release since 2015’s Woman, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. To Whom This May Concern spans 19 tracks and promises a rich blend of soulful sounds and notable collaborations. The Grammy winner tapped hip-hop talents like Ab-Soul and J.I.D, plus fellow Philly native Tierra Whack and even West Coast rap icon Too $hort for the project. Behind the boards, Scott enlisted legendary producer DJ Premier among others to craft the album’s groove. She’s already given a taste of what’s to come with lead single “Beautiful People,” an uplifting, warm ode to community and resilience (even featuring Scott’s own mother on the cover art).

This announcement marks a triumphant return for the 53-year-old singer. Last year, Scott celebrated the 25th anniversary of her debut album — a reminder of the influential mark she’s made on R&B. Now, after an 11-year gap, she’s entering a new chapter. The response to To Whom This May Concern has been electric, with stars like Queen Latifah, Lizzo and MC Lyte cheering her on. With a legacy already secured and new music on the horizon, Jill Scott’s comeback is poised to be a highlight of the year for soul music lovers.
