Daniel Seavey Postpones Australia & New Zealand Tour Dates

Pop singer Daniel Seavey has postponed the Australian and New Zealand leg of his tour just days before it was set to begin, citing doctors’ orders for vocal rest. The 24-year-old former Why Don’t We member was scheduled to kick off shows this weekend in Perth, but he announced via social media that he must reschedule the dates to avoid long-term damage to his voice. “Hey guys, I got some pretty tough news,” Seavey wrote in a heartfelt message to fans. “My doctor has ordered me to go on another 3 weeks of vocal rest to ensure that this problem completely resolves and never returns, which means I have to push back my shows in Australia a couple weeks.”

Seavey expressed deep regret for the last-minute change. “I am so beyond devastated by the outcome of all of this and am so terribly sorry to everyone I am letting down,” he continued, noting how much he was looking forward to performing for his international fans. The singer assured ticket holders that his team is moving quickly to set new dates, and all tickets will be honored for the rescheduled concerts. In fact, the tour is now set to start on August 2 in Auckland, New Zealand, before heading to Australia: Melbourne on August 5, Sydney on August 6, Brisbane on August 8, Adelaide on August 10, and wrapping up in Perth on August 12.

Despite the unforeseen setback, Seavey struck an optimistic tone about returning to the stage once healed. “I miss you all so much and can’t wait to see you again soon,” he told fans. The U.S. singer-songwriter has been steadily building his solo career; his debut album Second Wind dropped in March and features the single “Gateway Drug” among other pop-rock tracks. Seavey’s Australian fans got a taste of his live act last year when he toured with Dean Lewis and even treated some lucky followers to surprise acoustic park performances. Now, with proper rest and recovery, Seavey is determined to make it back down under in top form. Fans have flooded his page with support, prioritizing the young artist’s health and promising to wait a little longer for the high-energy shows he’s known for.
