Doechii Drops Out of Three Major Festivals, Citing No Reason

Rising rap sensation Doechii has abruptly pulled out of three major festival appearances just days before showtime, leaving fans disappointed and concerned. The 27-year-old Tampa-born rapper – real name Jaylah Hickmon – was slated to perform at All Points East in London (August 23), Forwards Festival in Bristol (August 24), and Rock en Seine in Paris (August 21). Festival organizers announced her cancellations on social media with only days’ notice, offering apologies but no specifics. “Unfortunately, Doechii will no longer be able to perform… We’d like to apologize to any disappointed fans,” read a statement from All Points East, which added that they hope to welcome her in the future. The Forwards and Rock en Seine festivals echoed similar sentiments, calling Doechii “an incredible artist” and expressing regret at her withdrawal. As of now, no reason has been disclosed by Doechii’s team for the last-minute pullouts.

Fan reaction was swift and emotional. Many supporters flooded comment sections wishing the genre-blending rapper well and expressing shock. “I just fell to my knees in M&S,” one distraught fan wrote in disbelief at the news, while another simply lamented, “I am so upset.” Others asked if a replacement act would fill her slot, with All Points East responding that they were working hard to secure a substitute on short notice. The cancellations come amid a milestone year for Doechii. Signed to Top Dawg Entertainment (the powerhouse label behind Kendrick Lamar and SZA), she has quickly become one of 2025’s breakout stars. Her 2024 mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal earned critical acclaim – even snagging her a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album – and delivered viral hits like “Anxiety” and “Denial Is a River.” Fans are eagerly awaiting her proper debut album, slated for 2025, and hoping that this unexpected festival news is just a brief detour for the talented rapper on her ascent. For now, the focus remains on Doechii’s well-being, as supporters send love and look forward to her next move.
