Every year, a new artist comes out and out of the blue
him/her becomes a huge success. This year Ciara
may not have the top selling album but her debut single "Goodies,"
is one of the most played songs on radio in 2004. Her new
single "1, 2 Step," is so bad that it's good. Radio
is planning to drive you insane with this hot mess produced
by Missy. The problem here is that Ciara can actually sing
and has a handful of more than worthy singles on her album
including, "Pick Up The Phone," "Next To You,"
"And I," and the throwback, "The Title."
Avril Lavigne's "Nobody's Home,"
shows growth from the young punker. The video in which the
singer plays a homeless teen should open eyes to many parents
struggling these days. Hoobastank also returns
with the single, "Disappear." While the song is
not as capturing as "The Reason," it deserves a
spin.
What doesn't deserve a spin this week? Omarian
should hang his career up along with Marques Houston.
His debut solo-single "Never Let You Go," featuring
Big Boi is headed for big trouble. Then again, when ever does
the young teenage girls actually listen to the songs. Lift
your shirt, smile at the camera and hit a gospel run (off-key
of course) and you'll have yourself a hit. |
