THE
KILLERS
writer: Roy Opochinski
The Killers have a hot album (Hot Fuss) and are on the
road in support of it. Groovevolt.com caught up with guitarist
David Keuning recently and talked about songwriting, touring,
and living in Las Vegas.
Groovevolt: What is your reaction now that the album
has been released?
David Keuning: ItŐs exciting. ItŐs our first album
and things are going pretty wellÉ ItŐs a dream come true.
GV: While the bandŐs Las Vegas upbringing has been
brought up a number of times, you are not from Vegas. What
has life there been like for you?
DK: Growing up in Vegas, youŐre immune. The other three
[members of the band are] from Vegas. The three of them will
all tell you itŐs normal, like any other townÉ Being from
Iowa, I can tell you that Vegas is not normal. ItŐs cold on
Mercury, but f you grew up on Mercury, that would be normal.
I moved four years ago. It was culture shock. It definitely
is different but I donŐt think it prepared us for touring. |
