Carey is currently working on her follow-up album
to, Charmbracelet. The singer is now under the
microscope of new Island Def Jam president, L.A.
Reid. “She has not met with Reid yet. She
wants to complete her album without his input,” says
a business associate. When Mariah signed on with Island
Def Jam after Virgin terminated her, Mariah was in a tug
of war with Arista, J and Island. She chose to go with Island
Def Jam. “This is a very important album to Miss Carey
and she wants it to be her best. She doesn’t want
to ruin the success with outside interference. She respects
L.A. Reid but feels she needs to do this on her own.”
Carey’s new album is due this fall. The diva will
have to sit with Reid before the release of it’s first
single. |

Ja
Rule can’t seem to get a break. This past
weekend the rapper was turned away at club Suede in New
York. The rapper was dressed inappropriately and his posse
was extremely large. In the past this would be an oversight
but when you’re not hot, you’re just not hot…Is
Justin Timberlake hiding from the media?
Let’s hope that is the reason he has not come out
in support of group member J.C. Chasez’s
debut album. |
