| Recently,
Adrienne, from the troubled group 3LW, wore
a t-shirt that read, "J.Ho," a mocking reference to Jennifer
Lopez's clothing line. This caused an uproar at Epic Records,
where an engraged Jennifer could end 3LW with a snap of
the thumb. "She wants them dropped by the label," says one
source. "The young girl in question has been a Jennifer
Lopez fan since the beginning of her career and Jennifer
is quite hurt by her actions." 3LW’s management released
a public apology but insiders are calling this a publicity
stunt. "Their management (family owned) is one big joke.
Here is a company who begged their Internet users to call
Sony and make a bid for their careers. 3LW, or what's left
of them would be better off alone," says a source close
to 3LW. In any case, the group is currently searching for
a replacement and is looking forward to premiere of their
first movie, Cheetah Girls.
Jive Records is having a hard time breaking R.Kelly's
new album. The artist has released two singles, but both
are receiving lukewarm reception at radio. "Ignition," went
to radio three weeks ago and while the single is rising
on the R&B charts, few have heard the song on the radio.
"Labels do this all the time. If a track fails at radio,
they release a CD on vinyl single in the hopes that buyers
will see the track rise on the charts and request the song
on the radio," says one Atlanta radio programmer. "I believe
in R.Kelly's case, he will begin to gain support with the
new single. Like Mariah, he has to visit radio stations
and rebuild his relationship with listeners." Sounds like
he has his work cut out for him.
Shania Twain and Faith Hill recently ran into
each other and sat down and talked about the ups-and- downs
of superstardom. Both seemed to be very supportive of the
each other's new album releases... Has Michael Jackson gone
mad? The singer, who recently spent several days testifying
in a court case against him, recently hung his child from
a terrace (see
photo) while waving at the press below... Question?
Is it just me, or is the Dixie Chicks' music starting
to get interesting? Ok, maybe it's just me. |
